Anne-Marie Lachance Counselling
Helping you make sense of what hurts and reconnect with what matters.
A place to be fully yourself and supported through change
I believe that true healing begins with a safe, compassionate space where you can be seen and heard. I am dedicated to providing a warm and professional environment that supports your mental well-being. My approach is rooted in empathy and evidence-based practices, designed to help you navigate life's challenges with clarity & grace (and sometimes a little humour).
About Me
support that feels deeply human, not clinical
Registered Psychotherapist (she/her)
Trauma Immersed, First Responder Trained
Like you, I have experienced life’s highs and lows and I understand that the lows are sometimes too hard to handle on one’s own. I draw from these experiences when I support my clients. There is great courage in taking the step to seek help and you are brave for searching to support your personal well-being.
Our sessions will be in an environment where you are safe and supported. I strive to ensure that you feel heard and can comfortably express your troubles. Together, we will seek resolutions to your concerns in an up close in-depth way to gain a richer understanding of your circumstances. I believe you have the strength within you to tackle what is troubling you most and I am here to help guide you towards finding that inner power and to find the real you.
Whatever is distressing you, my goal is to help you recognize your internal strengths, and maximize the resources, tools and the options available to you.
In our individual sessions you will find hopeful, intuitive, compassionate, humorous, and positive perspectives.
I welcome and am happy to support clients of all sexualities, identities, races, ethnicities, backgrounds, and beliefs into my office with compassion and acceptance. My clients are ready to do the deep work.
I operate from a trauma-informed lens and integrate psychoanalytic & internal family systems theories into my practice with a person centered, narrative approach.
When not working with clients, I can be found reading whodunit novels, listening to true crime podcasts or standup comedy, walking by the beach, toes in the grass in my backyard soaking in the sunshine.
Please know that you don’t need to have it all figured out before you reach out. Healing is a process we navigate together, one breath and one step at a time.

How will I know if therapy is the right fit for me?
I believe that therapy is right for everybody! Studies have shown that the fit between the client and the therapist is very important for successful therapy. This is why our intake session together will be so important to establish our relationship but also for you to evaluate if I am the right fit for you. I believe the initial consultation is of paramount importance to your therapeutic experience. We all have different styles and personalities, which is why I put careful attention into getting to know you and ensuring you have the best possible therapeutic experience.
I work 9am-5pm can I come after work hours?
Yes, I recognize that schedules can be complicated! There are several evening time slots available if you are unable to make a daytime appointment. And I am happy to refer you to someone else on my team who would be a better fit with your availability.
Where are you located?
I am located at 129 Byron Street North, Whitby. There is a Municipal Parking lot next to our Red Brick Wellness offices where you can park.
What do I do if I can't afford the fee?
Mental health is a passion of mine and ensuring you can access support is my priority. Having an open conversation about your financial situation is always a welcomed option. There are many avenues to help make sessions more accessible to you, which also includes access to our on-site counselling student. Please inquire directly for more information.
